In1972, Faso’s Pizza was started by the husband and wife team of Joe and Pat Faso. Located in the Park Forest Plaza, they served thin crust and deep dish pizza and a selection of just a few Italian sandwiches including a customer favorite still today, the “COMBO” made with their outstanding Italian beef, Italian sausage, homemade sweet green peppers, and melted mozzarella cheese on Italian bread from Marconi Baking Company of Chicago Heights.
In the 1980’s, the business expanded and so did the menu. They began serving pasta dinners and salads. Joe created three renowned signature pasta sauces, his delicious white clam sauce, the incredibly indulgent Alfaso sauce (a garlic and Romano butter cream sauce), and the perfectly sweet and tangy marinara sauce. To complement the selection of fresh salads, Mrs. Faso contributed her original, out of this world, creamy Italian salad dressing. All these homemade specialties are available by the pint and quart.
Today, there are two pesto sauces available for pizza and pasta dishes— basil pesto and sun-dried tomato and garlic pesto. The selection of Faso’s Original Pizzas continues to expand with the ALFASO thin crust or deep dish pizza, barbecue pulled pork, bacon double cheeseburger, and everyone’s favorite, the C.B.T. deep dish pizza topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, and sliced tomatoes, served without sauce.
